20TA10 Recall Campaign Information

Overview:

The 20TA10 Campaign is a recall for certain 2013-2017 Prius’.

The Prius is designed to have failsafe modes in response to certain faults that may occur in the hybrid system. In the affected vehicles, the failsafe mode may turn on the way it was intended, causing the vehicle to stall.

What Happens:

The technician will update the vehicle’s computer software. The technician will then inspect the inverter assembly and replace it if necessary.

What to do:

Run the customer’s VIN in TIS to confirm the campaign.

The campaign will look like this:

There is no need to order any parts.

Protocol/Guest Experience:

Due to the varying nature of a software update, it is best for the guest to drop the vehicle for the day.

Some updates can be performed in as little as two hours, others can take most of the day to complete the update.

Communicating this to the guest is extremely important to providing a positive experience.

Parts: If parts are necessary to replace the inverter assembly, these parts will be ordered by the technician and the advisor.

Rental: Rentals are available if there is further action to be taken after the software update. Rentals will be assigned by the advisor after technician inspection.
