20TC03 Recall Campaign Information

Overview:

The 20TC03 Campaign is a recall for certain 2019 Yaris’

The engine control module in the involved vehicles inadvertently contains software intended for vehicles with a different engine configuration. As a result, the engine control module is unable to clear certain diagnostic trouble codes and may result in a vehicle not passing state emission testing/smog checks

What Happens:

The technician will update the vehicle’s computer with the appropriate software. 

What to do:

Run the customer’s VIN in TIS to confirm the campaign.

There is no need to order any parts. 

Protocol/Guest Experience:

Due to the varying nature of a software update, it is best for the guest to drop the vehicle for the day. 

Some updates can be performed in as little as two hours, others can take most of the day to complete the update. 

Communicating this to the guest is extremely important to providing a positive experience.
