21TD03  Recall Campaign Information

Overview:

The Center High-Mounted Stop Lamp (the light on the outside of the rear facing window) has a seal between the lamp and the vehicle body which can deteriorate over time. If the seal deteriorates sufficiently, water from outside the vehicle could leak into the cabin through that seal.

What Happens:

The technician will inspect the seal, and if found to be deteriorating the technician will replace the seal. The technician will also examine the vehicle for additional water damage or organic growth and make any necessary repairs.

What to do:

Run the customer’s VIN in TIS to confirm the campaign.

Protocol/Guest Experience:

Please request that the customer remove any debris from the back seat of the vehicle. This will allow the technician to make a proper inspection and cut down on the customer wait time. 

Confirm with the customer that they do not have any aftermarket accessories impeding access to the light area. If so, the customer will need to remove those accessories prior to bringing the vehicle in for the remedy.
