Overview:

In some cases, not enough grease has been applied to the switch, which can lead to a short circuit that can cause the assembly to overheat and melt. A melting switch can cause smoke and lead to a fire.

What Happens:

Technicians will inspect the vehicle first; if needed they will apply grease to the switch.

What to do:

Run the customer’s VIN in TIS to confirm the campaign. 

The campaign will look like this:

There is no need to order any parts. 

Protocol/Guest Experience:

Requires an Inspection first. Guests may wait with the vehicle. If additional time is needed, the advisor will let the customer know.
