G04 Recall Campaign Information

Overview:

In the involved vehicles, there is a possibility that under certain limited conditions, if the sliding door opening operation is impeded, the sliding door motor circuit could be overloaded, opening the fuse for the motor. If this occurs when the door latch is in an unlatched position, the door could open while driving, increasing the risk of injury to a vehicle

In less formal terms, in 2011- 2016 Sienna’s sliding doors could get stuck in the open position.

What Happens:

The technician has to run a new cable through the back of the vehicle to correct the potential issue.

What to do:

Run the customer’s VIN in TIS to confirm the campaign.

Please request that the customer remove any debris from the back of the vehicle if the This will allow the technician to make a proper inspection and cut down on the customer wait time.

Particularly, child seats will need to be removed by the owner, and properly re-installed by the owner.

The technician will have to remove the back seats to gain access to the cable.
